I have a 90 litre aquarium heavily planted and want to incorporate Co2. I have purchased a complete system. The LFS are extremely vague in their explanations on how to set them up so here I am. I have purchased these items and connected them in the following order:

Co2 can

Dymax RX - 122 Regulator (with in built needle valve)

Check Valve

Bubble Counter (little plastic cup thingy I had to half fill with tank water)

Diffuser (Dymax – not glass, some large green plastic thingy)

Power head

Now here’s my problems:

I understand that the regulator should display 10 psi of pressure mine is showing between 3 – 4. Is anyone here familiar with the Dymax RX – 122 regulator? I can’t seem to find an ‘adjustment valve’ there is only the needle valve.

By adjusting the needle valve; I can count about a bubble a second in the bubble counter. However, the diffuser doesn’t seem to dissolve the Co2. A large bubble builds up in the outlet then just rises to top and pops. Hence, Co2 just escapes out of the tank. I have placed the power head directly above the diffusers outlet however the large bubbles that come out don’t seem to get sucked into it.

Can anyone give me some pointers/tips?
