Undergravel Filtration

Does anybody have any experience with using UF with planted aquariums? i thought they would be good to use as it would allow water to pass over their roots. can anybody fill me in?

any help would be appreciated!

RE UGF for Planted Tanks

I used underwater filtration with my first planted tank, and for me it was more trouble than it was worth. But it also, in my opinion depends on what kind of plants you have. Do you only have rooted plants, or also floaters? If you have floaters, power filters tend to get clogged with them, but if you keep the floaters on the opposite side of the tank as your power filter they tend to be okay. So my advice is go with the PW rather than the UGF, but im not an expert... so maybe someone else could offer better advice.
