I currently have a 20 gallon fish tank with 6 fish in it. I will be getting an 80 gallon tank with all the equipment from a friend of mine. Need to know how to transition my fish to the new tank. Should I fill the 80 gallon tank with all but 20 gallons of water and run the tank until it cycles and then ad the gravel and remaining water from the 20 gallon tank transferring the fish at the same time?
Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

Transfer everythingtthat's in your 20 to your 80. That included Filters, gravel, decorations.. Etc. You may also want to consider getting a bigger filter for your 80 along with the filters from your 20.

The 80 gallon tank has a canister filter that is oversized for the tank already. So you are saying to also use the existing filter for the 20 gallon tank? How long should I use it for.
