That water is nasty in most cases. It's not helping anything to add it to the tank. I just bought a package of mysis cubes made by a company called Hikari. I added a frozen cube directly to the tank and it made a discolored cloud as it was thawing in the tank.

That is the same brand I am using. So you just drop the cube strait in?

I did, once, because I am out of my home-made food, but I won't be doing that again. I'll thaw it in water and remove the food and discard the water from now on.
