Vertical, horizontal or 45* angle?

So how's your heater positioned?

I do it horizontal so it's easier to hide.

They use to be horizontal across the bottom of the tank but they where too hard to get to. Now they are vertical or on a slight angle. I position most of my heaters near the filter intake to help heat distribution.

1 horizontal under filter intake
2 at 45* angle - 1 above bubble wall, 1 under filter intake

Mine are at a 45 degree angle - makes it easier to reach the temperature adjustment if I need to. As Mumma said, position it near the filter intake or outflow for circulation. Also keep it off the substrate.
