I have this fluval 305 filter thats in good working order and moves water like it should. Whats the issue is tho is that when its on it makes this weird vibrating noise and since the tank is next to my bed I'm wondering if anybody might know what issue the tank might have and how to fix it. If thats not possible then what would be the best way to soundproof the tank or covering it with a blanket or pillow help?

i did, there was a thin slime film so i didnt think it was a problem, is that usually the cause for vibration?

Considering the impeller is the only moving part. I would look there first. make sure it's not bent and seated properly. Also check to for an air pocket. I myself have a 305 and sometimes I have to double check it's on, because it's that quiet.
