I have three Stealths, and they have been fine so far. I did notice that one of the heaters was warm during a water change when it was supposed to turn itself off.
I would still try to take your heaters back, Meredith. The [acronym:3778d9167e="Local Fish Store"]lfs[/acronym:3778d9167e] can test the heaters for themselves, and return them to the manufacturer as defective, and then give you your money back, or maybe a gift certificate.
