I know this has surfaced before...
I also know the worth the money/ too expensive arguement...

I personally like the small in-tank footprint and will pay for the quality.

Everyone who has them seems to swear by them.

I just can't decide between two 10s or one 40 in my 180.

Thanks in advance
Happy Holidays

Jay

Yes, I would get the wireless control 10s .
As I understand it, when they link in slave/master they run 180° out of phase to each other in a push/pull configuration.
since the tank is 6 ft long I thought there may be an advantage to running on opposite ends...
Or is the 40 that much stronger, Where only one would suffice ...

you will be unhappy with the 10s. two 40's would be a better idea.

Hahahahaha
I kinda figured that! I was just trying to avoid that price tag!
Especially since I was going to build a closed loop (with pumps I already use as dust collectors) until YOU pointed out these marvelous devices... hahaha

I always hated the look of powerheads in my tank, this kinda solves that and seems to work awesome also... BONUS

Thanks again for the insight, Mr. X... and Happy Holidays!

Yea, I think I will go with a RKL to control the existing power heads so about half the money of a MW40.

They have mp 60 now. You should go with 2 of no less than mp40. I have a mp10 on my 29. and I think I need two.

I think you will be unhappt with the (1) 40mp because two gives you ultamet(sp) control. I have 2 mp10's and that is more then I need. That said, 2 mp40's would be fantastic,
