Water test kits

So something is going on with my tank where fish don't survive. I need to test my water to see what is going on. I only have an outdated little test kit but it's super old. So I was wondering what kits people use, where they get them, the best ones? Any tips would be appreciated.

API master freshwater kit.
Always cheaper online!

Separate GH and KH kit is also very handy in knowing about your water.

Good luck!
