Just a quick question guys, I have had an old school 75 gallon (no center top brace) for about 12 years in a hot storage unit. Since I've recently finally had the time and finances, I'd like to set it up. I talked to a guy at my lfs and he told me if the silicone was still soft to the touch, it may be okay.

So I brought it home, set it one the back patio and filled it up and have no aparant leaks in the first hour, how long would you let it sit before fully trusting it? I was thinking I'd let it sit out there for a couple of weeks. That sound about right? Thanks in advance. :)

Thanks for the heads up. Since I need to build a stand too, I'll probably just leave it out there until that's finished. No leaks overnight, so at least I'm off to a good start.

The rim is scratched up petty bad and I'd like to paint it, any heads up on what type of paint to use and what to avoid?
