Wave generation in round tank

I am running an experiment and need to generate waves. Has anyone had any experience creating waves in a round tank? They would need to be ~0.5m tall. If this isn't possibly I will have to build a rectangular one!

Unless you generated waves from the center I would say get a long rectangle tank like a 55 or 125g
