Wave Maker pump placement

Hi,

Just curious what others have done wth their wave maker pump placement.
I am running 4 maxi-jet 1200, 2 of them have the 1600 gph mod kit, using the reef fanatic wavemaker.

The modded pumps are in the front, on the sides. The other 2 are on the sides in the back about 1/2 down (1 runs continuously).

I'm starting to think these mods are too powerful as it kicks up some pretty powerful currents. Sould I maybe step down to a maxi-jet 900 or lower.

I have 180 gal. 72x24x24 Corner overflow, Live rock in the middle about 3-4 inches from all sides.

Anyway, how do others out the in forum land configure theirs?
