Don't those feed from the bottom up? There's one I saw as a kid that the water drained from the top down through the sand, and then it went back up through another chamber to spill into the tank.

I saw that. Not what I'm talking about. I'm looking for one where the sand isn't fluidized. It's more like a "regular" sand filter as the water falls through the sand.

The Sandman is not what I am talking about. This, the water went down through the sand and the sand itself acted as the particuiate filter as well as the biofilter as is the case with a fluidized bed filter.

The Sandman is not what I am looking for. The sand did ALL the filtering as the water decended through it.
