what is the longest lasting test kit?

By longest lasting, I'm talking shelf life. Once I am satisfied my aquarium is "stable", I may not touch my test kit until I notice something odd. Since I don't want to have to run to the store everytime I notice something funky, but would much rather have it in "the back," what would be a good test kit to have on standby?

I will vote on an API. When I was buying the API test kit, I would buy from amazon or a place I know they are moving the API the fastest so i can always get the latest & longer expiry date.
