hi everybody,

I purchased my tank used and noticed the manufacture date was 2001. i am no expert on tank building but from what i can tell the glued seams look ok. It is 35 gallons and established in my basement for 2 years without any leaks etc. I don't want the tank to burst and ruin my house. Do tanks deteriorate over time? Should i replace it for preventative measures?

Thanks

Only for a larger one :)

He he he. I like the way you think :)

Op as long as the seal and glue are fine, there aren't a lot of deep scratches on the glass, it has a seriously broken frame, or has cracks or chips all over it then it should last for many many years. I have one that is at least 15 years old with several of the above issues and it has held water for 6 years now.
