Am currently running 3 250 watt 14k phoenix bulbs. Its been 16 months since my last bulb change. They still seem bright but when should i replace them. What recommended. Also do halide bulbs lose the blue color over time. Any input is appreciated.

Your supposed to change bulbs yearly.

A high quality bulb like a Phoenix is good for about 1 1/2 yrs, so your about due for a change. As they get older the color spectrum starts to shift towards red so you may see less of the blue effect from them. Some cheaper no-name Ebay bulbs are good for about 6 months to a year at the very most.
