Im going to be using a 55g sump for my 150g tank but would also like a canister for even more filtration and incas of malfunction.
At my petco they have the hob marineland canister on sale. Is it good? They also have a cascade 100g fliter for $99. Im not getting a fluval because of how expensive. So which is better? Cascade or marineland?
They also have api nexx but i never heard a report bout them.

Check out eBay for the Chinese versions of can filters. Lots of people like the sunsun or the jebao, if I'm spelling that correctly.

To tell the truth if your sump is setup correctly then you won't need a canister filter

If you feel the sump won't be enough then use a bigger sump

If its because you want high stock levels or will have a high bio load then you could add a sand filter fluidized bed filter

I run one on my setup that can jangle a 10,000 gal pond or 50 kg of fish its very easy to setup

This is my sand filter before I installed it

You won't need one this big lol
