I've just got hold of an 8g tank for my betta but it doesn't have any lights in it. I'm wondering if anyone could tell me which kind i can get to fit in there? I'm hoping fir some kind of strip light, possibly LED? I've attached some pics so you can see what I'm working with. Thanks

You could put pretty much any light in there that will fit, if you go with something like a cheap LED or whatever, just go with java ferns, anubias, java moss, etc and the light intensity really isn't that important.

I'd probably put a regular socket in there and use a screw in CFL.

Can i use a regular socket?? I thought it had to be a special water tight one for aquariums? Plus what's a cfl? Lol

cfl is compact fluorescent. The kind of sockets I've seen on standard fixture don't look like anything special, but you could get a waterproof type one if you wanted to. Just make sure everything is plugged into a gfci outlet and you should be good to go in case there is a short somewhere.

Sorry I'm not an electrician so I don't know much about the specifics lol.

Its ok you confused me with the cfl lol I'm useless. Thanks I'll take a look around see what i can find :)
