The XP1000 might be undersized for your tank.
I have the XS 200 on my 125 w/55g sump and it works great.

I thought it might be a little undersized also. I almost pulled the trigger on the XS 200 But didn't like the larger footprint. I don't expect to have a big bio load so I could probably get by with XP 1000.

If needed later what do you think about supplementing with an HOB?

Not sure why the larger footprint is a concern if it's going in a 55g sump, but anyway, this was my 2nd choice if I didn't go with the XS 200. It has the smaller footprint your looking for. The SSA CS2 uses the same pump as the XS 200.
