Fish purchase question

Hey Bernie,

Got a question about the fish I got off you last week, I bought a brittle star, Royal Gramma, and a striped squirrelfish. I put it in my 26 [acronym:e759d3b137="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:e759d3b137] which I understood would be ok. Found this tonight and 2 things come to mind, 1 the min. req. of 70 [acronym:e759d3b137="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:e759d3b137], and 2 it eats serpent stars , Is my brittle at risk? To be safe I'm gonna go get him and toss him in the 46 [acronym:e759d3b137="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:e759d3b137] (the brittle star) until I make sure.

The Striped Squirrelfish, also known as the Hawaiian Squirrelfish, is one of the most common squirrelfish seen by scuba divers. It is bright red with thin, white horizontal stripes.

A 70 gallon or larger aquarium with large amounts of live rock, hiding places, and swimming room is recommended. It will do well with others of its own species as long as there is adequate hiding locations and adequate space. It will eat invertebrates such as worms, crustaceans, and serpent stars. It is a nocturnal fish and hides while the lights are on.

The diet should vary between live feeder shrimps, freeze-dried shrimps, chopped marine meats.

Gerald....

Your quote (as most similar info found on specific species) refers to full-grown fish;
which unfortunately, most hobbyists never quite come to realize in their home
aquariums.

I wouldn't be terrible concerned for quite some time.......but, I suppose, no harm
done in keeping him with the bigger boys!!
