110 Gallon Malawi Tank
Hi,
I got my 110 Gal about 3 weeks ago now. Just thought id let everyone see how it went. I still need to add some a few more plants, im thinking Vallis and some anubias varieties. If you would like to know anything else about it just ask Let me know what you think ^_^

did nitrates show up? i would think something like that would take at least a month to cycle.

nitrite was at 0.1 and nitrate at 2ppm
i added some water from my other tank and put a sponge from my other filter in the sump to help it out. i thought it would take long too, but ive done it with a few smaller tanks in the same time and ive never had an issue, i moniter everyday for the first 2 weeks with fish in it so if any major issues start i usually fix them up.

wow, thats awsome. I'm setting up a 55gal soon and i am glad to know that there are ways to cheat the system with larger tanks.

The sponge from the other tank's filter certainly helped. The water itself doesn't really help much, as bacteria need a solid object to attach to, to properly colonize. Your plant selection should give that tank a nice, natural look. You could add those now, and they would certainly help releave any future ammonia/nitrite spikes.
