29 gallon Goldfish tank.

I got this one on Craigslist for a good price. The trim was oak woodgrain look and stand was brown. Not liking that, it was repainted. The back was spray painted blue. The original plan was to paint tank trim and stand with gray textured spray paint. But it took the 2 cans I bought just to hide the original color on the trim and door. It was estimated that I'd need about 5 or 6 more cans to finish. At $7 a can, no way. I had some exterior primer/paint that was almost the same color in the garage. So the rest of the stand was brush painted with that. A shelf and back were added inside to store fish food and other supplies. A nice door handle was installed-looks great and makes opening the door easier.

I'm pretty good at residential electrical work, so outlets and switches were added. 2 of the outlets are unswitched, and the other 2 are controlled by the switches. Wanna shut something off-no need to unplug it.

The light strip that came with the aquarium is old and doesn't work very well. This light was going to be temporary, but I discovered I love it! Being incandescent, there are many many low cost bulb options. Standard incandescents, GE Reveal bulbs, compact FL's, colored party bulbs-you name it.

The Bio Wheel 200 did not have the bio wheel. In the past i've had problems with the wheel not turning. So the AC 50 Biomax pellets in the mesh bag were dropped in behind the filter cartridge.

There are 6 13 cent feeders about 1-1 1/2 inch long. My 3 inch pool comet in the 2.5 gal got cloudy eyes, so it won't be moved to this tank until treatment is over. I added some Tetra Safe Start. The LFS employee said Bio Spira for freshwater is now SS. I hope this stuff works-dont want to do a ton of PWC's until the tank cycles.
When these fish outgrow the 29, I'll look for a used 75 or give them to someone that has a huge tank or pond. Even if I get a 75, only 2 or 3 of them will be kept.

With that few fish and being so small, I wouldnt be suprised if you didnt have to do much in the way of water changing at all through the cycling process. Btw love the rock.

No before shots. I was going to save the pics the seller had on Craigslist, but forgot. In the first pic showing the back, you can see the original trim and stand colors.
