55 gal: from plastic to plants
Well, since I converted to planted, I thought I should post the results, such as they are. Apologies for some lousy photos...(Click for full-size)
First, from Oct 4, all plastic decor: On Oct 13, all the plants are in, but some plastic decor is left in the middle: On Oct 18, all plastic is gone, driftwood is in: And how it looks today. Moved some stuff, took out L. repens that was dying, and trying to get some Java fern to root on some different driftwood: And finally, semi-decent pics of a couple inhabitants. Bamboo shrimp (Atyopsis moluccensis) perching on some Anubias in bloom: Albino BN pleco enjoying his driftwood cave: Edit: for anyone interested, I suppose I should list plants and other stats. Lighting: 2x65W 50/50 pc bulbs, current satellite fixture Fertilizer: Flourish root tabs and liquid Flourish comprehensive No CO2 supplementation Plants currently: Hygrophila difformis Hygrophila salicifolia (I think) Sagittaria subulata Anubias nana Anubias afzelli Anubias coffeefolia Cladophora spp. Microsorum pteropus Vallisneria americana Ceratophyllum demersum Marsilea quadrifolia I think that's it. |

impressive change. I'm sure you, and your fish, will appreciate the conversion.
