6ft complete updated

Tank dimensions, 6' x 18" x 18"
whats that 100 [acronym:b03a324446="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:b03a324446] or something? It hold less then my old 4x2x2 thats for sure.

For those who havent followed my tank build up,
Tank was custom built with 10mm base, two twin port side drop filters built in and black silicon run around the front glass to hide the edges.
All in all this tank so far has cost me $420 AUD
includes everything, tank, stand, components, sand, wood the lot...
which if my calculations are correct is around $300 USD.
hehe and I sold the 4x2x2 for $500 so i'm running a profit so far !!!

When bought....

Filter (not plumbed yet)

Made the stand myself. it's a bit higher then normal but we're all pretty tall and hate looking down into tanks.
(insert pic here) haha i'll get back to that once they're uploaded.

So far so good, No cracks, no leaks, no noises coming from the stand (touch wood)

more to come.

Gets about an hour of natural light during the day (direct)
and all day indirect natural light, so I won't be lighting it for some time yet..

Plants are there for the silver dollar to munch.

Threw in a couple of balas after the seeded cycle. Mainly for dithering aggression between the green terrors while breeding.

more to come..

Loved looking at the pictures of various stages of completion.

The tank is looking great.

I am jealous I would love to have silver sharks but all five of my tanks are
full so I will have to buy another... he he he

Keep up the good work.

Nice driftwood! Keep the pics coming, I have a 5 foot tank project I'll be starting sooner or later, I need all the ideas I can get.

I like the home made stand as well, I'm a [acronym:45b18d3c02="Do it yourself"]diy[/acronym:45b18d3c02] addict!

Thanks guys and Gals,
The GT's have gone back into [acronym:914e7c7ab1="quarantine or quart depending on context"]QT[/acronym:914e7c7ab1] tank cause it's the only one i have room for them in,
Silver dollar has gone back into the oscar tank, and the sharks, well they're to small to worry about so I left them in there.
The rest have been replaced with a breeding colony of 10 Melanachromis "Maingano" forget the new name, cyanarhabdos or something of the sorts? probly add another small colony of lithobates or im hoping I can mix "chilumba" in there as well for a bit of colour contrast.
bought one of them tacky background scenes but the Decor has been adjusted with a few mounds of limestone as well, mainly for it's buffering properties, will take some pics tonight of the next step...
found the wood in the 4x4 area near our house, it's a gold mine out there hehe..
Also have more pics of the stand being built somewhere, will post them up to.
anyone wants a cheap and easy way to make a stand, let me know it really is to easy.

Matt.
