90 gal planted community

Hey everybody

I was browsing thru the threads & wow.. some very nice tanks !

Here's my 90 [acronym:91148a9c68="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:91148a9c68] I set up 8/20. I put all the images on my own server so as to not eat up so much of AA's bandwidth. If you're on dial-up, it's gonna take a while.

I've been fish keeping for about 6 months and just started studying plants a few months ago. If you see a species incorrectly identified, etc.. please let me know.

Thx,

Dave

Checking tank for leaks

100 lbs of Eco Complete substrate

Making a rock planter/cave combination. The top of the planter has NC red clay and a very thin layer of small gravel.

Wisteria

The painting over the tank appears to spill into the tank, at least that was my intention

Setting the rock planter in the tank with chains and straps.

Dwarf Hairgrass

Anacharis

Anubias Nana. Tied to wood with sewing thread.

Anacharis

Tropic Sunset

Anubias Coffee. Tied to wood with sewing thread.

Thx,

Dave

Wow!!!!!!!!
That will be an Awesome tank once all plants are growing well!!!!!!!!
Looks like you did your reasearch well!
Love the idea of the rock planter. I've been thinking about sorta the same thing as well, making a background out of styrofoam and making holes or something in the back wall along the entire height and length where I can plant moss, or anubias of ferns in.

Again, great looking Can't wait to see updates

Right now I have:
15 danios
2 emerald cats
2 cory cats
3 bala sharks
1 angel
3 ottos
1 blood parrot

I plan on adding a few red swords, some more corys & hatchet fish.

Thx,

Dave

tank looks great dave...waiting for updated pix after a month...

only piece of advice - since you are using a fluval (i presume from the pix), use a prefilter. my fluval's flowrate was drastically reduced when i ran it without a prefilter. so i shaped a [acronym:cc0d50cc5c="Activated Carbon"]AC[/acronym:cc0d50cc5c] sponge into a prefilter. but i believe you can buy them online too at www.jehmco.com

Wow . Very nice job indeed Dave That tank is going to look even better not only a month from now, but two weeks from now. Since I know you like snapping those pics, I know you will provide us pic nuts with some real soon.

Here's a new cave. I'll surround it with anacharis.

I also added a piece of branch for the "tree fell into the pond" look.

Very nice! I'd be interested in seeing pics of all your fish, if possible. :P
