Nice fishes. Just curious, Do you randomly select the fishes you want to put inside your tank?

No, I look for fish that will get along in a community tank/planted, a few I have inherited from a 20 gal a neighbor could not take care of. I know I have a few that might not be good for my plants. Keeping an eye on those, may move them to a non planted tank. I try to ensure recommended group sizes. Also try to find ones with color. I check on what type of habitat are most suitable. If they are schoolers I make sure I have a tank big enough. If they like to hide - there are places to go and feel safe. So far with the lights on everyone is getting along, who knows what goes on with the lights off.
