No I thought it was better to give the bb some time to grow in the sand before switching filters

You can run both filters at the same time, or just put some old filter media from the old filter in the new filter along with the new filter media and just run the new filter. Filter media is just the filter cartridges you put inside the filter.

Post a pic of the tetra filters media. If I were you I would just run both filters at the same time for a week or 2 then take the tetra filter off and just let the aqueon run but still post a pic of the tetras media.

Ok, so here's what I would do if you don't want to run both filters at the same time.

Take the media from the tetra whisper filter and see if it will fit in the aqueon filter. If so, just let the aqueon run with it.

If not, take scissors and cut a piece as big as possible off the tetra media and place it infront of the aqueon media media then put the 2 media in the aqueon filter and let it run for 5-15 minutes. Then add your fish. Just watch for a mini cycle and be prepared to do a water change if your parameters get high

Whoops I meant to add pictures of the fish and plants added lol! Going to try the filter in a sec if you want better pics let me know. As for now I just threw everything in just to get them in the tank.

You don't have to empty out that stuff. Just cut a small piece of the fabric off (none of the black stuff that looks like gravel inside the fabric, leave it alone) and put it in with you other filter media. Then you should be fine.

Next step is for fertilizers fixing plants and the current! I have root tabs. Need to get micro and macro fertilizers though and possible DIY Co2 because I do have 36 watts in this 10 gallon which is medium light.

Good job , you did it exactly right! Just make sure it doesn't stay out of the water to long or all the beneficial bacteria will die glad I could help! I'm not to educated on ferts and co2 so I won't be much help with any of the stuff.

I know lol, I can never take a clear pic of my fish with my iPhone, it's always blurred! And they am 3 definitely look prego! They might drop soon, do you plan on keeping the fry?

Your females look pretty ready to drop. You can't put all 3 in a breeder box though but I'm sure you can add them anytime soon! Within the next day or two maybe sooner if you want!
