I l have only had my Bolivian rams for a week. But they are my favorite fish. This one is just getting it's color back from the stressful ness of changing tanks.

Are they as hard to take care of as they say? I wanted to get a couple of them. But the were all out at my LPS so I ended up with Bolivians.

Well water params are easy because as a fishkeeper you should be striving for 0ammonia, 0 nitrite and low nitrates. I've got a heavily planted tank and need nitrates for my plants. The rams don't like high nitrates so it's a bit trickier

Call me weird, I mean I don't have that many fish atm (Big die off recently </3), and I'm getting new fish this weekend, but my fav fish will always be this this lil guy... I know, I should get him a school, but I figure he'd school with some rummy's well, and I don't want too many Glo-fish.., (didn't know they were GM untill recently)... This guy has stuck with me for almost 2 years now. He has survived 2 die offs, one from NTS, one for nitrite poisoning (got him out the day before. Lucky little fellow)... He is loaded with personality and always checks in with his cory pals. I see him peeking under rocks, just staring at them, the some others. So adorable!! >.<

I did have more but he won't tolerate any other fish, so it's just him and the shrimp.

They had one at my LPS but they wanted twenty dollars for it. And I heard They have to be in schools. I didn't get it because the store only had one but did want it. How much did you pay for yours?

I paid £25 for mine over 2 years ago but they are species only. Mine doesn't tolerate any fish and even hates snails! He's in my 53 gallon but I'm seriously thinking of upgrading his tank as he's nearly 9 inches and has a 3 inch depth to him. He's my pride and joy!
