Foggy tank?

Hey guys i have a question. I have a 55 gallon tank and the water is good and what nkt bur j got home today from my lfs and the water was really foggy, had tons of "stuff" floating on it, and at the tip of the water it looked foamy ot like it had oil in in! What do i do?!?

I can try and help but you but I'm just as lost as you are. Let's just hope someone knows what's happened lol
When was the last time you cleaned the filter?

Do you use filter floss or anything like that? Any bottom feeding fish?

The only Idea I have if that something in your filter e.g. Fitter floss moved and released a large amount of debre

Idk maybe but yes I have a sydontis.

Food for thought, it happened in my last tank.

Maybe you sydontis moved some of your gravel?

And the top of your tank looking like it had oil in it maybe it's your treatment I sometimes gets that when I add plant food and general like that. I know what I'm saying isn't helpful but I'm trying
