Alright, this 20G has been in my basement since we (me and my wife) started to build our 65G planted. We started with a 10G then built the 65G.

Anyways, we are building the 20G to replace these guys. They are 2 5G's

The left one is just emptied and only plants remain and some snails left on the right one.

The main reason to replace these 5g is because the rims are not properly sealed and water keep leaking through. Same with the 20G, but I just redid all the silicone seals. My next project would be resealing the 5's but it is not the main point here.

Alright, so the 20g that is going to take place on the rack in the next 24hours.

So I tested the tank for leaks and wife proceeded with hardscaping it.

All up, with temporary LED light from the 5G

Looks like a 15gal.

It is a 20g, I've measured it and calculated the volume before.

Anyways, I've setup the AC500\110 with the polishing pads. The AC20's will go shortly.

Water is clearing out today.. Old filter media is in the AC110 today so I can remove the AC20.

Question though. I don't have a heater big enough for the tank. Can I use 2x50w instead? They seem to be doing fine heating up the tank to 78F

Heaters should be fine..what the reasoning behind all the filtration(i may've missed something)?

I took out the AC20's already. I had to install them there while I got the AC110 ready. But I also did thought I would just use the 2xAC20 which did not fit the rim properly.

A little update.
Added some fishes. Only a few plants under the LED. We still have to get a proper light for the tank.
5 balloon platies
6 neon rainbow
2 Bolivian ram
Dropped a few almond leaves in there. The hardscape is pretty much done.

Just kicking in for a status update... I took out all the HOB filters and put in my free Fluval 205 canister. I'm loving it!

Also gave away the neon rainbows, and replaced them with more platties and endlers.

Still no light :(

I'm about to pull the trigger for a proper light. The current LED was meant for a 5gal, and the Java moss seems to be suffering.

I'm debating between a stingray or a 24/7. They have 30$ difference, ordering from Amazon.com

Received my finnex stingray, and also repurposed the tank. The gold fish will be in there until they grow bigger.
