So after looking for awhile trying to find a good 125 with no luck I ordered a new Marineland 125 for 299 bucks. Couldn't beat the price. My plan is to combine both my 55s into it and just have one large tank and one quarantine tank. So Wednesday this week I get to pick up my tank and as far as my stand goes I will be building it myself. The goal is to have it up in about 3 months, I have to work on it as funds allow. This will be a South American Cichlid tank, background will be black and it will have a sand substrate. I'll start out running 3 penguin 350s on it until the fluval fx6 is purchased. Then I'll probably just run the canister. I have a very large selection of Malaysian driftwood to choose from and some nice fossilized river rock. No live plants in this one going for lots of swimming space. Once it's up and running there will be 5 to 7 angelfish in it, 5 clown loaches, 3 to 5 Geophagus tapajos, and 9 rainbow fish. But future plans is a all discus tank. I'll keep the photos coming along of my progress. So far I have the materials bought for the stand which I'll get started on Saturday when I'm off.

Sounds like an exciting time for you James, hope all goes well, I fancy a mbuna tank, no other fish, with sand and rocks...........

I had some benches laying around so I put them together to store the tank on when I pick it up. So this will be it's home till I get the stand done.

Tank looks ace, just bare in mind, I had 6 koi Angels, and they were so aggressive to each other when egg laying started, I decided to take 4 back, it was too stressful for me to watch, also they do like a tall tank as they grow high rather than long.........as big as your hand......

I have 3 that size already in on of my 55s. There all males and get along great. Made sure they were all males when I added them.

That's good then, mine were teenagers at the time.......lol, hope to see some pics when it's up and running.........

I'll keep posting as I go along. This will be a few month project. Just don't have all the money right now to get what's needed. Did manage to get this heater for 30 bucks at Petsupplies plus though. With the coupons I had I couldn't pass it up. This will go with the other one I already have.

I like your plan and the stock sounds awesome. Off topic is that a bronco under the cover? Looks nice.

Yes Mike you are correct. That is my summer toy. 78 Ford bronco.

Oh yeah it will definitely have Door and a small fluorescent tube at the top inside for light.

Looks great. And awesome bronco. I use to build Suzuki samurai's and wheel them at badlands.
