What are the real plants you have in there and do you have any plant substrate under that black gravel?

I know some are micro swords and I have some amazon swords and some kind of other plant I got at petsmart. No all I have are the rocks.

Would like to update my tank.
6 neon Tetra
5 black neon Tetra
2 dwarf red Guarami
1 Veil Angelfish
2 Dalmatian Mollies
1 Platinum Angelfish
1 German Blue Ram
4 Ghost Shrimp
1 Bamboo Shrimp
2 Gold Claw Fiddler Crab
6 Neon Glofish
1 Chinese algae eater

Some updated pics. I'm going to PETCO today to get a freshwater master test kit and some background and maybe a sand substrate.

Decided I wasn't digging the disco looking rocks so I went with a much better looking sand substrate. Just added sand over the rocks and I've got to say its a great improvement. What do you think?

I think it looks better. That stock list is interesting, I think it might pose some issues (primarily the fiddler crabs), and the plants in the forefront are not aquatic. Still, I love that style tank, its one of my favorites.

U mean the ones on the right or left? The shorter ones on the left are mini amazon swords or so the package claims. Not sure of the other two. I'm including close ups of them. What dangers does my stock present?

I bought them all at either petsmart or PETCO. They all claimed to be fully aquatic. The ones on the right are the newest. Honestly I'd agree with you just cause of my knowledge of plants the ones on the right don't have characteristics of a fully aquatic plants like the other two

I have a question pertaining to a new idea I got. What minimum size tank would I need for my glofish, 3 remaining black tetras and blue tetras? I have a extra Bio wheel style 55 gallon filter. I would like to build my semi aggressive chichlid tank out of my 55 gallon tall to include 2 angels 2 honey dwarf guaramis a German blue ram and the fish I've been wanting since I saw it a electric blue jack Dempsey. What do you all think? I've included plenty of pics of my tank already lol

Those are dracaena ribbon plants for sure in the close up.

An EBJD is not going to work with GBRs, dwarf gouramis or any small community schoolers.

Your referring to the plants on the right correct? The pointed leaves heading straight up.

Well if I moved the tetras to my 10 gallon, the guaramis and blue ram to a 29 gallon I'm waiting on the PETCO sale for all I would have in my 55 would be the 2 angels and the bottom dwellers. Would a ebjd work then? Oh and of course I need to rehome the mollies. Forgot about them.

I'd get another tank and stock around the EBJD in it personally. Mine doesn't do well with pretty much any other fish that aren't similar in size to him. I've heard that larger catfish and possibly larger schoolers can work, but I've never tried it myself.

You can get a really cheap tank on CL, just make sure you get one that is in good condition.

the $1/gal sale is cool and all, but it's really not that great of a deal if you consider the cost of lights, filter, stand, etc.

Well the reason I was waiting on the sale is I have everything but the heater. I have tools to build my own stand and I'm going to make my way up to home depot and get me some Plexiglas and make a hood for it. It should be a fun project. I purchased a 10 gallon yesterday and have it filtered off a 60 gallon hob filter. I've read here that there is never such a thing as too much filtration but ill need a custom hood since its so large. When cycled it will house either tangerine or electric blue crayfish. Only one. It'll be a solo tank. I'm thinking tangerine are smaller and would be happier in the 10. Or maybe an electric blue and ill upgrade to a 20 gallon long tank in 6 months and get a proper hood. I really want to make one though. Install some leds in it and a temp gauge.
