SM and HN1 had the chilis rasboras and I ordered 6 from them for my 5G and they said I could easily put 12 chilis in my tank. So if you have 35G, you could put probably more than 80 chilis there...but don't take it from me.

lol, Yeah I know it's a lot. That's actually one of the reasons it's only going to be Chili Rasbora. That plus 3 more reasons which will become clear to everyone once the tank is decorated. I was thinking it was a number between 20 and 40 TBH but I really don't know at this point. Don't worry, I'll be adding them a few at a time and may not even come close to maxing it out.

EDIT: Assuming SM still has them I might be getting them from her or jetajockey.

yeah even 20-40 would be beautiful to look at. They are very small but very active and colorful...simply awesome fish.

First sign of nitrites!

So the 11th and 12th readings were just the same as they were on the 10th.
Today they are exactly the same but with .25ppm nitrites.
Temp: 85
PH: 8.2
Amm: ~3-4
NO2: .25ppm
NO3: ~5ppm

Probably going to add my piece of driftwood today or tom. It's soaking in water and hasn't altered the water color in the last 24h. This will probably lower the PH a tad temporarily which will be good for the bacteria I think.

Got my water harness test kit in the mail today, got it exactly like it is show in the picture. Great packaging... some company :nono:

Made a little change today. I had some plans in mind but changed them up today by removing the shale and putting in its place a more proper 'centerpiece.' Of course it doesn't look great all alone there, but when the J.Moss comes in and grows in and around the DW, I think it will look great.

I could do a water change, but I'm going to see what my Ammonia levels are tomorrow and go from there. Seems like it's going great.

Java Moss came in yesterday. I put it in but forgot to rinse it off. I think it upped the Ammonia level, it's the only thing I can think of that would up the ammonia level. Doing a 50-60% water change sometime today.

Here's the pics of the Java Moss:

Just thought I'd give a quick update. Everyone is still alive and well, the fry have definitely stepped up to juvies; they swim all around the middle of the tank and hide at the bottom less. I can't sex them just yet, but based on size alone I think I have some ideas. The 3 pleco are really active, always all over the tank sucking on the glass. I've been doing 40% water changes every couple days to avoid any nitrite problems since the cycle wasn't quite finished yet. Not much has changed visually, but I'll post pics when the java moss comes in a little thicker on the bottom.
