Hey all, I'm a new member to the group, and the recent owner of a 120gal freshwater tank. I have it custom built into my basement wall with the backside being in the storage room. I currently have the large driftwood as my center piece and plastic plants. I know not everybody likes plastic, but I have done live plants before and have no desire to do it again.

So far my fish consist of:
7 Lemon Tetras
5 Twin Bar Gold Platys
5 Malayan Halfbeaks

Check it out and thanks for any comments!
I'll add more pictures as I take them.

Initially I was going to have the tank flush with the wall so I just doubled up my outside studs and put the rest 12" on center. I ended up changing from a 112gal to a 120gal so my flushmount idea fell through because my opening wasn't high enough.
I set the tank back into the wall and just cased the opening like you would for a window. The stand is made with six 4x4 posts and 2x4 framing in-between. I used 2x6 around the top as a bit of trim and extra support to tie everything together. The top is 5/8inch plywood with three layers of flooring underlay for cushioning. I can post some pics of the stand if you want to get a better idea of it. Good luck with you build!

AWESOME! I would love to do something like that.. My husband was complaining at Xmas that my tank was in the way of where the Xmas tree sits. He's a crybaby. I told him to build me an in wall set up. Dnt think it'll happen anytime soon. He laughed at me :( built our house but can't build me a set up.. Lol.

For those asking for the stand construction pics, here is one for you. If you need any more info or help with building just PM me!
