Recent Renovations of my 20 Gallon Tank

Well, I apologize for the delay, but I wanted to introduce you all to my 20 gallon tank and some of the recent renovations it's gone through. (I have pictures of my Betta and Goldfish bowls, and my 5 gallon somewhere as well, but they are currently MIA, so I will post those when i find them as well.)

Here is what my 20 gallon looked like from when i set it up through Late november 2007. You can see in these pictures that I was using a corner filter that was really too small for the tank but did the trick for a while (with lots of filter and PWCs) but the air pump started to give out and the water quality went down so I decided it was time for a makeover

And here is the tank after preliminary rebovations. I replace the corner filter with a hang on the back (well, side in my case) filter, added black gravel to about double the previous volume, moved a few things around, took out some of the fake plants and added some more live plants.

I let the tank re-cycle for about a month before starting to add new fish. Yesterday I swapped out the fake coral in favor of a nice piece of driftwood, added a few more live plants and the last few fish to round out my tank. As the plants grow I'll decide if I need more or not. So here's how it look today, apologies for the poor quality of the photos, I took them hastily before leaving for work this morning, I'll add more without the flash later on!

As the plants grow in I'll post updated pictures!

I like the purple flower in the first picture, and the clam cave! I like real plants too and I'm glad you're trying some. The gourami is very pretty too! The orange and black platy is pretty.

I really like how the tank is looking now. The live plants and driftwood are an excellent addition!

again, thank you! Yeah, i'm really happy with how the driftwood looks, I also like it because my Clown Pleco comes out of hiding more often, he used to sit between two of the folds in the coral during the day but now i can usually see him (though he camoflages well) on or under the driftwood!

Yes, i liked the look od the purple flower too but it was hard to keep the flower part looking clean, it always got scuzzy, and i like the idea of switching over to 100% live plants, but we'll see...
