So I weakened and went back to fake plants.....blah!!!!!

Well, I had been trying real plants but as for the time being I don't have good enough lights or [acronym:2dd98bdd88="Carbon dioxide"]CO2[/acronym:2dd98bdd88] so I went back to filling the back of the tank with fake plants. My real plants kept dying and needing to be replaced every few weeks and it was clear they were never gonna thrive and take over the tank like I wanted them too. So for now I will stick with the fake ones and just keep a few real ones perhaps an amazon sword and some java fern. That way when the real ones look ratty I can throw them away and easily replace with a couple more. But what do you think? Is it too fake & crappy looking? I kinda like it but my husband thinks the fish won't like the feel of the fake plants. But they have been playing and hiding in them since I put them in there so hopefully they don't "feel" to bad. The loaches seem to love them.

I like it! I have plastic plants in my office tank since it takes less time/resources to maintain.

I agree that you can't even tell from that picture. I have a few silks in my aquariums, and the only way people know is that I sometimes forget to bury the cheasy bases sometimes.

I use aquarium silicone to glue gravel onto the bases. That way if the bases come up, it just looks like a mound of gravel. It's a pain in the butt, but I like the result.
