Thanks. BTW, are you wondering about the setup for the old tank that is pictured at the beginning of this thread or the planned setup for the new tank?

Thanks,
Harry

The original tank, which I no longer have, had Flourite as the substrate along with a thin layer of leonardite on the bottom. I'm planning on doing the same for this tank, just will use the Dark variety of Flourite instead of the Red I used on the old tank.

I'll save the general setup of the old tank and especially the new one for another post since I can go into great detail on that.

Thanks
Harry

I've started compiling a list of plants and fish that interest me. There a few species of fish and shrimp I'm definitely going to have. Dario Dario, rummy noise tetra and/or cardinal tetra, pure bred elders, betta. These are some of my favorite from previous tanks. Here's the full list of what I've been considering:

Dario Dario
Snakeskin Orchid Endlers
Runny Nose Tetra (Hemigrammus bleheri)
Mustard Gas Betta (pair)
Threadfin Rainbowfish
Gertrude Rainbowfish
Fork Tail Rainbowfish
Furcata Rainbowfish
Blue Diamond or Blue Dream Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi)
Okeefenokee Pygmy Sunfish
Gardneri panchax kilifish
Yaoshania Pachychilus
Betta Imbellis
Hatchet fish
Lyretail Killifish
Malawa shrimp
Sunkist shrimp
Microdevario kubotai

Since I'll be keeping shrimp most of the fish on my list are generally OK with adult shrimp.

As for plants, I haven't really narrowed the list down yet. It's going to be a low tech non CO2 setup like the 55G I had. Here's the full list:

Crypt Flamingo
Alternanthera reineckii 'Mini'
White anubia
Plagionium
Echinodorus reni
Vallisneria contortionist
Bucephalandra sp. Brownie Ghost
Lobelia cardinalis "small form"
Micranthemum umbrosum 'Monte Carlo'
Echinodorus tropica carpet
Red Java Fern
Micranthemum Umbrosum 'Monte Carlo'
Aponogeton crispus 'Red'
Aeschynomene fluitans
Hygro Pinnatifida
Aponogeton longiplumulosus (purple flower)
Hygrophila pinnatifida
Anubias stardust
Anubias pinto

That's some of the more interesting plants ... I'll probably also have lots of more common plants ... it's a big tank.

Thanks,
Harry

My only concern is mixing the killis. We're you just planning on males or you aren't concerned with hybrids?

Killies can be quite iffy with shrimp so chances are I'll end up not getting them. If I do decide to go for them I'll have to do more research. Never had killies before.

Thanks,
Harry

Ok. I understand. I keep them and if you have questions I may be able to help you out.
