Tiger barbs

I've had my tiger barbs for a few days now and I've done 50% water change yesterday and the day before that and I will be doing another tommorow but every now and then one of my barbs keeps lying on his side and it's like he's sleeping and I thought he was dead a few times knocked on the tank gently and he was fine and went back to normal any ideas I will get my test kit tommorow and post results then

Mine will float facing down once in awhile. Never had float sideways.

Yeah, I saw face up and face down (depending on water flow), but never sideways.
