Hi, and thank you both.:) The black oranda..they actually call that 'blue'. I am not certain of their age, but I would say definitely less than a year. They are only a few inches each.

One in quarantine. He arrived yesterday. He's my birthday fish!:D
He will remain in qt for 6-8 weeks.
This is fresh out of the bag, so he was still a bit stressed. Doing fine and swimming now.
I need a name for this guy. I will edit in the names of the ones above & specs of tank.

6 to 8 weeks? Haha u have alot of penitence! I normally do mine for 4 weeks! But I guess it's a good thing :) u can feed to more food and it's easier to keep the water parameter under control :) :)

Good morning, thank you. I am trying to follow advice from the breeder. I have had a string of super bad luck with the goldfish, starting with losing my original fish that I had a year. Then trying to bring in new ones caused problems with not qt'ing long enough. It was suggested that I sterilize all of my qt equipment well with bleach, so that's what I did. Now since adding the UV, I have a handle on the ich that made it's way to the main tank, and any new fish will get a proper qt time. The 4 fish I have in the main tank have been through it all with a few that did not make it. So these four seem pretty resilient, and have a good slime coat.

Thank you Kat.:)
