We've been working on this project a while, but I thought I'd get on and start a new thread. This tank is an upgrade to my 39 gallon starter 'experiment' that's been running for a year.
The tank is 24x24x20h, Starfire on 3 sides and overflow, drained through the bottom. We ordered a 10 gallon sump, 10x14x14h.
We build the stand while we waited for the tank to be built. It's extra heavy duty and a little longer than the tank.
We fixed the sump up with a few baffles, a filter sock, in sump protein skimmer; SWC 120 Xtreme. I have a small corner I'd like to light up and make a refugium.
We moved all the residents and live rock from the old tank a couple weeks ago. So far most are looking good after the move. My Kole tang looked pretty rough for a few days, but he looks much better now. My nems are taking the longest to recover.
When we decided to upgrade, we upgraded the lights right away, from t5 to maxpect Razor LED. We saw a difference right away, the corals look so much more vibrant, and they seem to be happier. I love these lights! I wish I had bought them originally.
There are a few things I'd like to still get. I was planning on keeping this as a journal.

The tank looks nice! Setting up a similar 60g cube myself as we speak. What is your stock? That tang needs more room to swim, atleast a 4ft tank.

Thanks!
I've had the scopas tang for almost a year... He's barely grown. I am going to rehome him soon, I'd like to change some of the fish and reduce what I have. Right now there's a kole tang, scopas tang, longnosed hawkfish, 2 occ clowns. Id like to trade out the clowns for a maroon clown. I've heard they actually host bubble tips nems.

I'd rehome the kole as well. The ocellaris will host bubble tips as well and are a lot less aggressive. I love hawks though. Good luck the tank looks awesome!

I've thought about the kole as well, but he's still so small, him and the scopas like to pair up and swim around together, they seem to share the same cave at night too.
I've tried different things with the clowns and the bubble tip, including the picture method, quarantining them together for days, I bought the 2nd one because he was actually hosting an nem at the time... And then I was told it was a 1 in a million chance they would host a bubble tip... So I dont know...

As long as the kole is small and looks happy he should be fine. That's weird about the bubble ive definitely seen ocellaris hosting them. Hmm crazy, guess it all just depends on the fish

Thought I'd post some more 'finished' photos. We picked up a couple new corals; a bubble and a favia the other day. My brain coral had been dying back prior to the new lights, and it seems to be enjoying the new tank and lights, all stretched out and comfortable now.
In the last picture, can anyone ID the coral that looks like a palm tree? And can anyone tell me if the mini maxi nem looks like it's splitting?

Last one looks like ether a kenya or waving hand. Might be wrong

Yes! Definitely thanks! It's hard to know where to look when you don't know the name.
I got some new coral today, I'm trying my first sps, acropora, and I got a lovely peachy colored chalice. The tank is looking great!

Good luck on the acro, and btw that looks to be a monti cap rather than a chalice. Both are sps :)

****! I was wondering! The guy at the store said chalice, and I'm such a noob... Either way I liked it and it looks great. I'll do my best :)

Haha yeah but monti caps are super hardy for sps IMO and can grow super fast!

Picking up a Vortech MP10 wave maker tomorrow! Anybody use this?
