Okay so this build is finally happening and we are super excited about it! My boyfriend and I have been waiting almost a year to get this up and we are finally in the (almost - fingers crossed for tomorrow) plumbing stage!

Here's the specs:

- 75G Tank
- 2x 165W LED Dimmable Lights
- Glass Holes 1500GPH Overflow
- 3/4 in Loc Line Flare Return
- Corals from my 29G tank to go in!

- Reef Synergy SS-34 Sump
- Jebao DC-6000 Return Pump
- Reef Octopus XP-1000SSS 6" Space Saver Skimmer

Now since Friday is payday for both of us we will be ordering/purchasing:
- 75lbs of Reef Saver Dry Rock
- 3x 25lb bag of DRY sand from our LFS
- 2x EITHER Jebao RW-4 or RW-8 (still haven't decided)

Some plans we have for this tank:
- Filling it with corals and beautiful reef safe fish and a few choice inverts
- Adding in a reactor system to run GFO and carbon
- Adding an eventual dosing system
- And much more .. :)

The plumbing will be two 1.5" overflow PVC pipes with lots of unions and both will have gate valves (if we can find them, otherwise we have ball valves). There will be two 45's bringing the line into the sump. The return will be a 3/4" with a check valve and also lots of unions. We are also considering attaching the flex tube from the return pump to the PVC.

Now it's time for pictures!

This is the tank:

This is the sump and oh my goodness it looks incredible (sorry for the stock photo forgot to snap one but it's exactly the same)

Will update with pictures as we progress to the plumbing stage :)

Looks like a recipe for awesomeness!

Now that is a fancy looking sump! Looking forward to the progress in this build.
What are the two small "airline" tubes at the top of the 90 elbows (behind the overflow)? Is that for venting air and reducing the gurgle?

Dat sump though...:D! I'm following along just for the sump.

I know! The sump has really kicked our butts into gear on getting this tank set up. It's too incredible looking to just be sitting there lol!

I believe so. This is our first time plumbing so we went with the glass-holes overflow because it had everything including instructions! I've read that they're fairly quiet so I assume that contributes to it somehow.

I'm headed out shortly to see if I can find gate valves instead of the ball valves we have for the overflow. The BRS 160 Week 5 - Plumbing said they are easier to fine tune lol!

I have to ask though, why such a shines up sump? Besides colored acrylic, am I missing something?

Nope lol! That's about it. It's got a bit more than that stock photo has, probe holders, and a salt shield but nothing really special. I'll get a picture of it this evening. My boyfriend saw it for sale and wanted it so I surprised him and bought it.

So we have all the plumbing. I couldn't find gate valves locally so we will be going with ball valves on the overflows instead.

We sat around trying to decide if we should plumb it by drilling holes through the stand but decided that instead we are going to just redo how we have the stand built so that it will all fit together nicer.

It all needs a really good cleaning though because of all the dust that's accumulated since last winter. Ahh! Time to get this up already!

And tomorrow is camp day so that means no progress until Monday. Boo. But it will be nice to relax after the busy work week. Oh and today is technically pay day so I'm sure I'll be ordering a few things. Yay! :)

In the meantime here is a sneak peak at a few corals that will be moved over!

As you can tell my 29G is a bit cramped right now.. Lol!
