hey everyone. i finally decided it was time for me to upgrade my 15 gal nano tank to a larger one. i decided on a 30 gal long. i prefer a longer lay out vs a taller one. i transferred over my live rock but went with new sand. i had the tank running about a week before transfering over my fish. i only had a single clown in the 15 and a few snails and hermits. everyone made the transfer. i bought 25 more pounds of rock to go with my existing 20. this tank will be a mixed reef. im still deciding on my stocking list. but here is my set up thus far:

30 gal tank
penguin 350 HOB filter filled with live rock
2 powerheads pushing about 800 gph of flow.
have a prism HOB skimmer (pretty useless to be honest)
jager 150 watt heater
quad t5 fixture 156 watt with moon lights.

i am currenlty building a 15 gal sump. and i am looking to upgrade to a bubble magus 5 protein skimmer. the sump will also have a fuge in it. i already purchased a rio 2100 return pump and a aqueon overflow. i plan on running about 10 pounds of live rock in the sump and some kind of cheato. current stock list:

1 perc clown
1 royal gramma
5 hermit crabs
2 turbo snails

i have a handful of different corals

maxi mini anenome
ricordia
a few mushrooms
GSP
kenya tree
leather coral
galaxy coral
pipe organ coral
misc zoos

im sure there are a few i am missing. i am planning on building up the center of the tank with liverock once i get the HOB filter out. i am looking for some more stocking ideas. im just really not sure what else to put in it. the only thing i want right now is a yellow clown goby. which i may be getting very soon. but enough rambling on. here are some pics

hope everyone enjoys. as always i am open to any and all suggestions about the tank. most of the corals are just set in the tank right now. it will all be moving around. just havent decided on a scape yet.

Awesome pics and awesome tank!! Honestly I wouldn't touch the scape. I really like the way it's laid out. One side higher then the other with the center open for maybe a center piece coral?

i want sooo many more corals. i have no where to put them lol. once i account for growth. i want a monti to put on the top left rock. hard to find near me.

i do love the scape. i just need to make more room for corals. maybe i will have to do another tank then lol. i see your in ontario crystal. where abouts?

Lol. My mom lives in oshawa(the shwaa) lol. I will be in ajax tomorrow pocking up a car actually. Maybe in the future we can do some coral trades or something. I always love seeing members in my area. I live about 30 min south of barrie.

Haha the dirty shwaa. I thought Alliston sounded familiar. I have aunts that live in Barrie. Haven't been out that way in quite some time though. Keep in contact and maybe one day we could do a swap of something. I'm not to into fragging yet but the tank is still under a year old its birthday is in march lol. How time flys when your having fun.

lol ok i will look forward to it. im going on 4 years now. just havent really stepped up into anything big yet. i should have some new pics of the sump up tomorrow. started working on it today.

Sounds good would love to see some pics. :) here is mine. :)

bit of an update. finished the sump. got the old filter off the back. i left the 1 heater in the tank and i put another one in the sump. i figured if something happens and the water isnt flowing through the sump then it wont be getting heater (if pump stops working or overflow stops) and 2 heaters is always better then 1. i am running 1" pvc for the drain and 3/4 hose for the return. it was 3 1/2 foot overhead. im using a rio 2100 pump. i figure it at around 450gph ish for the flow rate. its providing plenty of flow in the tank.
