( more pics further down the page )

it has a jebo canister filter, 1x 150w MH, one 18w fluro and one 18w actinic

live rock not sure how much exactly
and the corals

fish wise not much only have 1 clown, 3 chromis, 1 long nose hawkfish and at the minute looking after a Orange-Spotted / Maiden Goby for someone else

Nice tank there Brad. But yes you are right the anenome will not make it on those lights. And when they go they usually go pretty quick. You might want to see if your LFS will hold him till you get proper lighting.

well i hate to say but i'm positive it would be the same story at my lfs as he only has fluros as well not so bad for him because his stock walks out as soon as it comes in.

It's kinda funny that he has these lights because after finding out on here that i haven't enough light in my tank I would've thought he would of had more than enough on his after all he is very experienced. I thought he would of known i did mention about the anenome going pale and he didn't really give me an explanation.

but it explains why my girlfriends also done the same

i will do my best really hoping i sell my 50g soon because then i can get lights straight away it's sort of a bad time of the year $$$$ wise

Nice pics.
Is there any chance you can move him higher up? If he dies, he can foul your tank something bad...especially, since you say money is tight. I'd hate to see you blow your Christmas savings on your tank and not your girlfriend!

yeah i probably could move him but i reckon he would do the same thing he's been doing when i try to move him he just go back in a dark hole i'll try anyway thanks

somedays he looks really good others not so good like the day before yesterday he was stretched right out and open full but yesterday he spent most of the day squashed up in a hole

thanks all along i've wondered what i was doing wrong i was getting good coraline and my water tests have always been spot on and have never had any more than 3 fish but everything on the rocks slowly disapeared i take it the lights are the reasons for this i'm hoping new lights will make it everything i've been hoping for it to be

as for the hair algae i've cut my lights down to around 8 hours and have been feeding less every other day or 3rd day and have been squeezing the liquid out of the food and it seems to be working hopefully another 2 water changes will fix it

well air algae is gone for the moment also i have a new camera so here's some better pics

if i was to sell this tank how much approx do you think it would be valued at please mention where your from so i can convert it to aus dollars

also it would be for the complete setup. Just asking because i am considering it and have no idea how much second hand tanks go for

well definatly not selling now anyway so disregard that last post went to the lfs this morning and my MH had come in so that's up now

here's a pic of the old and new lights and a couple randoms. I'm not quite happy with the colour of the globe so might look at getting a 20,000k one
as you can see there's alot of difference

BEFORE : old pic with normal fluros

pretty sure that crab is a gorilla crab

dark/hairy crabs are usually bad (black pincers). yours is black and hairy.

you need to get those things out or they will kill your fish

at the moment there's just the one actinic fluro which doesn't say how many k it is and the MH is 10,000k

yeah there not nice haven't killed fish yet but they're getting bigger and I suspect they will. They're just a bit hard to catch because even if you catch one on the rock they hang on and won't let go took me a good 30 min to catch one once.
