An update of the 55g. Getting excited to transfer this to my new 90gallon

Hi. I am transfering my reef from a 30 to a 40. Could you give me a process of what you did? Did you use new sand for your 90, or the old sand?

First i made all fresh saltwater in the new tank. Got my sump filters and heater running. Transfered live rock to one side of tank. Used clean/new dust pan and took the sand out of the old tank, added new live sand to cover larger tank. Tried to aquascape and gave up. Let run for 2 days added old fish and inverts. Asked around a lot about cycling, because I had live sand and rock from old tank I didn't need to wait before adding livestock. Even my tang did well with the transfer.

So you added all NEW water? Interesting! All the sand from the old tank being kicked up cause a mini cycle in the 55 or the 90?

Yellow watchman? Not sure on size but they are awesome. Or clown goby. Pretty cool too!
