Hello everyone, I've been perusing these forums for about 2 years while keeping up with my 20 gallon fowlr tank(aiptasia infestation). So after learning my lessons from my 20 I have finally upgraded to a 75 gallon. Dry rock, fiji pink sand, RODI water, starting this off correctly this time. Still working on everything but after a 4 week cycle, fish are in.

Equipment list so far:
Fluval 306 canister filter (free from a friend)
Reef octopus 90 classic HoB
Maxpec 350 gyre
Ecotech MP40 (currently cleaning)

Equipment list to get:
2x Radion XR15

Possibly a HoB overflow and sump set up. Still deciding.

Refugees from my 20:
2x Ocellaris clownfish
1x Transparent Cave Goby

Thanks :) I'm looking to grow many different types of coral I love the look of LPS corals. And yea those radions are pretty pricey, but I've heard (and seen for myself) that they are very good lights with alot of functionality. And yea the footprint of the 75 is pretty nice. I don't really like deep tanks...I have short arms. But this one is the perfect size for me without having to go custom sizes.

New addition, purple firefish. Added him last night. Other fish seem to have finally accepted him after some aggression. He was in their territories.

Also added this guy on Tuesday, he molted on Thursday and I caught a glimpse of him yesterday, but otherwise pretty well hidden fire shrimp.

That is typical. When you add new inverts they will hide themselves away and shed. Won't see much of it until the new shell is hardened if it survives the process.

I only see my fire shrimp during feeding time otherwise always hide's he's not very social ,
but my skunk shrimp always wanders around the tank very social even rides some of the fish.

Update time! Still haven't gotten my lights yet. Price tag of 3 months worth of rent hasn't been very appealing haha. Some new fish additions, and a new clear screen top. 1490246377934.jpg1490246517769.jpg1490246395857.jpg1490246459625.jpg

Just added my new GFO reactor. It seems to have cleared the water up substantially? I didn't even know that it would increase water clarity? My lights are coming in tonight as well so an update once I get them installed. 1491402126732.jpg

Where did you get that clear screen at? I've been looking for a new top for my 75 after the epic fail of my screens

I ordered it from Bulk reef supply, they have kits to make screens, really easy to do, comes with everything you need (comes with 8 corners, if you need more make sure to order them) I got the 4' kit.

I need to build some sort of block for the front of the tank, sitting on my couch you get hit some of the light right in the eyes

I feel like it would be a pretty tall canopy though, it's definitely an option, I'll keep thinking about it
