Opportunistic Corynactis Californica

I have several of these little anemone in my tank,but this one is the biggest with the most color. Anyway, it caught a piece of gracilaria algae floating by:

It was gone in no time:

Anyway, I thought it was neat.
 
I have never seen one of those, are they filter feeders? How big do they get?
 
I wish that I could tell you more about them, but this is my first anemone and they came as hitchhikers on my live rock. I do know that they like indirect light, medium water flow and they like it cooler. So I made sure that the bigger one(the one in the picture) was turned away from the light and place away from my water flow. It is doing well, it opens up at night. The other ones also are growing in lower portions of my live rock away from the lighting. Here is a link about them. Their nickname is the strawberry anemone:
