The pond (home of Chesty the bass)

Thought I'd share a few pics of our pond too.....I can't find the really good ones I have (hubby must have cleaned files of the computer, ) but these will at least show what it looks like.
This is when we first moved in.....

That first fall

Papa and Katy doing some fishing during this summer's visit

The ducks taking a swim this winter

Proof cats really DO walk on water

and some visitors we had a few weeks ago......they flew in early in the morning and spent the day with us before heading on to the rest of their journey

Nice (although it needs more shoreline vegetation :P) How deep is it?

That is the million $ question, lol. The pond was in place when we bought the house so it was already stocked. The former owner was an avid bass fisherman and reports that he put a "7 pound" bass in the pond at one point ...... we promptly named it "Chesty" and now that is the goal of everyone who fishes out here, to be the one to catch Chesty. Funny thing is we have not ever actually "seen" Chesty.....hmmmmmm......

Oh, and Toirtis, we are working on the vegetation, believe me. Initially there was nothing but one small clump of cat tails at the far end ..... we are allowing them to vegetate much of the shore as well as having added a couple of lillies and formulating a plan for other vegetation -- any suggestions???
