Is there any way to tell if a pregnant platy aborted, and a pregnant guppy?

If they get skinny and thers no fry... I guessing though

Yeah pretty much the only way to tell is if she doesn't look pregnant anymore, and/or see or don't see fry. That goes for all livebearers.

Well they still look plump so I'm gonna take that as a good thing.

Do you see a dark spot around where the babies should be? Normally when they are about to release the babies you can see some small brown eyes/bodies through the skin

With both the platy and guppy I see dark spots near the anal fin but they've been like that for about a week. I'm having ammonia AND ick issues and my nursery tank is not ready or I would move them.

I think so as well but I don't know how the fry will do if they actually deliver them.

Well I have 2 fry and its been over an hour since her last drop, when I saw the first one I gently coaxed her into the breeder she droped the second one and nothing since then. Is she okay?

Good question.
I assume my Platy aborted hers as well. Shes been HUGE for over a couple weeks now. I came home from work yesterday and she isnt big anymore. Well she isnt AS big. maybe she had a few and they didnt make it? I figured they had them all at the same time, not in spurts. I dunno?

I dunno either I read on a different forum to keep them in the breeder for 24 hrs
