Angelfish eating eggs!
Hi,
I have a breeding pair of angelfish and they bred before in my tank. The eggs hatched first time however the female got stressed and eat the fry as she had a disease at the time. I then give her treatment for it. So all was fine. However they then spawned again the other day and most of the eggs were fertalised however they still eat them! Why did they eat them now if they have allowed them to hatch in the past? I really want some fry off them.... Please could some one suggest something and other things to stimulate spawning

I've read angelfish eat their eggs/fry if anything stressful happens. Or they could still be an inexperienced pair and need to "figure things out." If it makes you feel any better, my angelfish spawned for just the second time today and the male was eating the eggs as soon as they were on the leaf

I agree, it may take them a few more tries to get it right. I've had mine spawn twice. The first time they protected the eggs for a couple days then ate them. The second time, just like Meredith, the male ate them as quick as they were layed.
