Babies

So Nubs (male bristlenose) hadn't come out of his cave in at least 5 days. I've seen his face poking out, but that's it. He lives with Jeff (big fat female) and 3 little young ones.
I'm hoping it's because he's guarding a nest.
If he is, how long until the babies start coming out of the cave? I have danios and gourami in there and want to move them before they eat the babies!
